There is an enormous opportunity for sports teams, both professional and amateur, to use statistics to improve decision making. As a former college football player and longtime hockey fan, I am most adept at implementing advanced metrics in those two sports. However, I have also written extensively about analytics in several other professional sports.
If you have an interest in collaborating, I’m happy to help (in my spare time).
As of June, 2015, I am consulting for a professional sports team. This work involves generating predictive models for players and teams on a wide array of metrics, to be used by team officials in player evaluation and acquisition. More information is available on request.
As of October, 2015, I am working as an analytics specialist with the Skidmore College hockey team. This involves the implementation of team strategies and the use of novel analytics to evaluate player performance.
